Summary

BRAVELY FACING THE DARKNESS TOGETHER
Syaoran and his friends were successful in collecting Sakura’s memories and defeating Fei Wang。 However, in order to release Fei Wang’s last spell, Syaoran had to pay the price of “continuing his journey。” He parted with Sakura and once more, accompanied by Kurogane, Fai, and Mokona, traveled to a parallel universe!
The group has arrived at a seemingly peaceful paradise, but a cloud of darkness approaches…
Note: the story picks off exactly from xxxHolic: Rei's chapter 38。

Puesssss agradecida y emocionada de poder, al fin, leer esta continuación de Tsubasa, pero la verdad es que me ha parecido una intro un poco floja y confusa, espero que en los dos siguientes tomos todo cobre sentido。

When all the feathers have been collected and the story is over, or so you think! Clamp gives you just what you were hoping for!

It was so nice seeing Shoaran's face again。 He's one of my favourite fictional characters of all time, so it's nice to see his story continue! I do love that this series picks up from where Reservoir left off。 I like the world in this volume and the mythology and the connection to xxxHolic Rei (definitely read Rei 1-3 first。 It's confusing otherwise)。 I love that Sakura still has her place in the story, and the introduction of new CLAMP characters! It's wonderful to return to the fabulous world and characters of CLAMP's great epic Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle in this sequel/appendix, but this volume gets it off to a slow start。 I didn't mind it much since I was just happy to see my beloved Fai, Kurogane, Shaoran, and Mokona, etc, again, and revel in CLAMP's beautiful artwork and gentle-hearted, fantastical worldview, but the stakes feel kind of low and the plot somewhat meandering in this first volume。 This English edition was not helped by It's wonderful to return to the fabulous world and characters of CLAMP's great epic Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle in this sequel/appendix, but this volume gets it off to a slow start。 I didn't mind it much since I was just happy to see my beloved Fai, Kurogane, Shaoran, and Mokona, etc, again, and revel in CLAMP's beautiful artwork and gentle-hearted, fantastical worldview, but the stakes feel kind of low and the plot somewhat meandering in this first volume。 This English edition was not helped by the unfocused, sometimes inaccurate translation--it's a shame Kodansha didn't get the translator of TRC back for this series。 All in all, it's nice to get back to CLAMP's wonderland and great to see more vintage CLAMP characters make their multiverse appearances! Nice to see old favorites again。 Nothing much happened, but I realized that my brain is refusing to remember most of what happened at the end of xxxHolic, which is probably for the best。。。 is rage blindness a thing?Without Sakura around the group is a bit of a sousage fest, but them being their own little family was cute and funny。 For example Mokona calling Kurogane a "constantly drunk husband" was one of the best descriptions ever。The art style is a bit different from the original story, but s Nice to see old favorites again。 Nothing much happened, but I realized that my brain is refusing to remember most of what happened at the end of xxxHolic, which is probably for the best。。。 is rage blindness a thing?Without Sakura around the group is a bit of a sousage fest, but them being their own little family was cute and funny。 For example Mokona calling Kurogane a "constantly drunk husband" was one of the best descriptions ever。The art style is a bit different from the original story, but still recognizable (not like how X went through three different art styles) and I feel the backrounds are starting to become more detailed again。 Thought that was missing for a while。Also my favorite character from RG Veda finally showed up, which was awesome。 Looking forward to the other two volumes and then I'll go back to sulking about how CLAMP keep doing the "Oh shiny!" thing to their ongoing stories。 I swear I'm a salt mine by now。 。。。more

Ah, Tsubasa。 I only missed you because of the crossovers and more Watanuki。This starts in what seems to be the middle of something, which is somewhat disorienting at first, but quickly dispelled once you begin the standard world intro。 All in all, it was a solid volume, and I didn't find myself screaming at the pages like I did towards the end of the prior series, which is a good change of pace。Although Syaoran is dreaming of Syaoran, and really, do we really need more clone drama? Welcome back to the world(s) of Tsubasa Chronicle as Syaoran and his group continue their journey into the land of Nirai Kanai。 This book is rated Teen probably due to scenes of violence but man oh man what scenes they are。 Like the original Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle this book is an easy read because when the action heats up the visuals are large, detailed, and often times absolutely stunning。 If you are a fan of the original series or even just a fan of CLAMP then be sure to check out this 3 Welcome back to the world(s) of Tsubasa Chronicle as Syaoran and his group continue their journey into the land of Nirai Kanai。 This book is rated Teen probably due to scenes of violence but man oh man what scenes they are。 Like the original Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle this book is an easy read because when the action heats up the visuals are large, detailed, and often times absolutely stunning。 If you are a fan of the original series or even just a fan of CLAMP then be sure to check out this 3 book series continuing the tale。 After all there is no telling how many short series we might get of these。 :)If I had to chose a favorite part personally it would be seeing Hana from Gate 7 after the crew was summoned to her place。 Now that is the Hana I know and love。 :) 。。。more

What's amazing about this new series is that it's continuing with bringing in CLAMP favourites and putting a new spin on them。 While I was initially concerned since I felt the original Tsubasa felt confused near the end, the time away from the series has done well。 It's gone back to a simple formula with Syaoran, Fai, Kurogane and Mokona travelling to different worlds。 CLAMP has fabulous artwork, and I'm excited (and happy) they haven't changed much of it。Fans of Tsubasa will love this new conti What's amazing about this new series is that it's continuing with bringing in CLAMP favourites and putting a new spin on them。 While I was initially concerned since I felt the original Tsubasa felt confused near the end, the time away from the series has done well。 It's gone back to a simple formula with Syaoran, Fai, Kurogane and Mokona travelling to different worlds。 CLAMP has fabulous artwork, and I'm excited (and happy) they haven't changed much of it。Fans of Tsubasa will love this new continuation。 。。。more

This kick-off of a new CLAMP series will make the most sense to readers who've already read all of Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles, xxxHolic, and xxxHolic Rei, because Tsubasa World Chronicle picks up the storyline where those intertwined series left off。 I was delighted to discover this continuation, because I've grown incredibly attached to Syaoran, Kurogane, and Fai。 (And Watanuki, for that matter)。 As with all CLAMP titles, there are direct references to previous stories and cameos from another This kick-off of a new CLAMP series will make the most sense to readers who've already read all of Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles, xxxHolic, and xxxHolic Rei, because Tsubasa World Chronicle picks up the storyline where those intertwined series left off。 I was delighted to discover this continuation, because I've grown incredibly attached to Syaoran, Kurogane, and Fai。 (And Watanuki, for that matter)。 As with all CLAMP titles, there are direct references to previous stories and cameos from another series。 Early on in my forays into CLAMP's work, their big reveals would fall flat because I was missing the allusions。 This time around, I experienced the delicious thrill of *knowing* the people Syaoran meets because I'd recently read Gate 7。 Pleased with the set-up。 Looking forward to more adventures! 。。。more

Well, that kind of threw you into the deep end。。。For those who don't know, Tsubasa: WoRLD CHRoNiCLE is a sequel to Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE。 The original had Syaoran, Fai, and Kurogane traveling the worlds with Sakura and Mokona to retrieve Sakura's lost memories in the form of feathers。 Without being too spoiler-y, the end of RESERVoir sends Syaoran, Fai, and Kurogane on another journey with no goal or destination in mind。 Thus we have WoRLD。So far, there's little explanation as to how or w Well, that kind of threw you into the deep end。。。For those who don't know, Tsubasa: WoRLD CHRoNiCLE is a sequel to Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE。 The original had Syaoran, Fai, and Kurogane traveling the worlds with Sakura and Mokona to retrieve Sakura's lost memories in the form of feathers。 Without being too spoiler-y, the end of RESERVoir sends Syaoran, Fai, and Kurogane on another journey with no goal or destination in mind。 Thus we have WoRLD。So far, there's little explanation as to how or why Syaoran and co。 are in this new world, Nirai Kanai。 If you hadn't read the first series, you wouldn't know why they're there or called "travelers" or anything。 I won't get into that in this review, since you can go read the original series for yourself or be lazy and read the wikipedia article。 :pIn short, don't read this unless you are familiar with the original series。 And go read Xxxholic Rei, too。 While not necessary, Rei will fill in some gaps on an early conversation between Syaoran and Kimihiro。Anyway, the meat of the book basically feels like nothing has changed。 You could go right from the final volume of RESERVoir into WoRLD and it doesn't miss a beat。 The art looks the same, the characters act the same, and so on。 All that's missing is Sakura being her adorable self in the middle of breakfast。 WoRLD also carries the more serious tone from the latter half of RESERVoir rather than the more lighthearted world-exploration of the first half。It feels like I've never left the Tsubasa cast, picking up this series, except for the fact that it's been years since the first series finished。 You might want to briefly review the original before picking this one up, but it's not necessary。 They do a decent job jogging your memory on things you need to know for the most part, but as I said, go read RESERVoir if you haven't already before jumping into this one。One final thing I'd like to add: Yes, there is a Miyuki cameo。 The trend continues。 It's actually a pretty obvious one for Tsubasa this time around。 。。。more

Tsubasa's back, and yay! Unsurprisingly, this volume is crossing over with xxxHolic: Rei just like the original two series crossed over。 I need to brush up on Rei a little, but I'll admit, I read this volume primarily to see Fai again。 Who cares about plot when there's Fai? Ha。 Anyway, this volume felt a little slow getting going, but I think the story will improve with the next volume。 Tsubasa's back, and yay! Gorgeously detailed art, engaging characters, and interesting locations make the first volume in the Tsubasa sequel a great read。Important Tip - This new series is as much a sequel to XXXHolic Kai as it is to the original Tsubasa, so make sure to read Kai before you read this volume or the beginning will be very confusing。
